To take Ithalomso to greater heights, we are seeking to bring on board an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help to expand our clientele and our business growth.


Reporting directly to the CEO, the Business Development Manager will be identifying new opportunities across South Africa, supported by market intelligence with the goal to drive sustainable sales growth.


  • Working closely with the leadership team, you will lead the development and execution of a local, provincial and national business development and marketing strategy.
  • Managing, developing and forging strong relationships with role-players and clients across the industry to support and share market/industry insight towards maintaining existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Staying abreast of regulatory changes and driving initiative to help support change.
  • Driving sales objectives through strategically securing major projects, diversification of offerings, effective customer satisfaction and fulfilment of solutions.
  • You’ll be a trusted partner to our clients to help fulfil/address current challenges.
  • You will be responsible for market research, developing pitches and managing a variety of projects.
  • You’ll be managing the end-to-end Bid and Tender processes, from identification and quality assurance of the proposals, through to the delivery of services, aligning all new opportunities with our company strategy.
  • Keep an up-to-date knowledge on the developing trends and technologies within the Commercial waste and recycling space.



  • The successful Business Development Manager will possess a B. Comm / B Tech in Marketing, Business Management qualification, with minimum 5 years’ senior leadership experience
  • You’re be a proactive, commercial and technical individual with strong analytical skills and a good basic knowledge of the waste management and cleaning industry.
  •  You will have excellent interpersonal skills with a successful track record of working with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
  • Previous business development, marketing and sales experience in a related sector such as environmental technology, chemistry, waste management will be a huge bonus!
  • You will have a strong track record of selling solutions with the customers’ interest at heart.
  • You are motivated by working together for a safer environment and a brighter future.
